UNUS SED (LEO) is a service token created in May 2019 that is used in the iFinex ecosystem (including the popular Bitfinex exchange). LEO was founded by iFinex after Crypto Capital saw some of its funds being confiscated by the government. To cover the financial deficit, the company decided to launch the LEO token.
The developers generated a billion tokens. The coin has three main functions: replenishment of the Bitfinex budget; expanding opportunities for service customers; development of the iFinex ecosystem.
Whereas most cryptocurrencies just launch on a single blockchain, LEO tokens were issued on two blockchains (Ethereum and EOS).
