Cartesi (CTSI) is the utility token of the Cartesi project based on the Ethereum blockchain. The CTSI token is an essential component for the proper functioning of the Cartesi data logger, which is a PoS-based sidechain for the temporary storage of data. Cartesi is building an operating system for DApps. Cartesi enables DApp developers to use all the programming languages, tools, libraries, software, and services they are already familiar with. The project enables complex and intensive computations to run in a Linux environment, outside the blockchain, without compromising decentralization. The project uses a layer-2 solution (those projects that are deployed on top of the underlying blockchains) that allows developers to code their smart contracts and dApps directly with the main software components and resources of the Linux OS.
The CTSI token allows you to use all the tools within the network, for example, increasing the speed of work, creating and verifying additional blocks/information about the blockchain or transactions being carried out. Cartesi was founded in 2018 by Erick de Moura, Augusto Teixeira, Diego Nehab and Colin Steil.
